The Kreft Program provides extended learning opportunities for Kreft students at three levels:
Inclusive (open to all students, interest based)
Selective (performance, invitation)
Highly Selective (performance, invitation only)
May include instructional support for teachers in differentiation, independent learning interest projects, or classroom differentiation.
Talent Pool The talent pool provides early enrichment for those students whose achievement is significantly above grade level. Students may participate in instruction groups differentiated to match their needs, interests
and abilities. The first graders will be cluster-grouped for reading and/or math
and served by a regular classroom teacher who differentiates the curriculum. Cluster Classrooms Identified students are placed in a cluster classroom where instructional support is provided to teachers in modifying instruction within the classroom. Students receive instruction in classrooms with like-ability peers.
Highly selective programming addresses areas of exceptional academic strength. Students whose performance on district standardized measures indicates that they are not only at the top of the grade level, but well beyond it, are invited to participate. Sessions with the TAG strategist have a mathematical and linguistic base, giving students the opportunity to interact with content beyond that which is normally available in the classroom. Differentiated learning plans may be written.

i-Ready is an online program that helps us assess your child’s individual needs and monitor their progress throughout the school year. The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive test that adjusts its questions to suit your child’s performance. Its purpose is not to give your child a score or grade but instead to determine where they need the most support. i-Ready Instruction provides students with lessons based on their individual skill level and needs, so your child can learn at a pace that is just right for them. These lessons are fun and interactive, with games and characters to keep your child engaged.
How will i-Ready help my child?
i-Ready will help us determine how we can best support your child in meeting their learning goals and will provide lessons that fit their individual needs. Past data shows that students who used i-Ready for more than 45 minutes per week grew 44% more in Reading and 65% more in Math than the average student.
What can I do to help?
To further deepen their learning, your child can use i-Ready at home. They just need a computer, internet access, Adobe Flash Player, and the login information provided below. To check if your system meets the i-Ready system requirements, please visit http://i-ready.com/support/ and run the system check.
To log into the i-Ready system, students must use their school Google account and access the product using the Lewis Central Clever Portal.
